Very happy with the looks and functionality of the table. Suggest shipper include extra plastic protectors for the metal pegs that support the glass shelf.

I paid $80 for this item when it was in the gold box. In a hurry to purchase before time ran out, I plunged for the purchase because it looked like the price was right for how good it looked online.

Well, I changed me mind quickly when I assembled the item.
1. The metal on the item does not appear sturdy; the walls on the tubular poles look thin.
2. The hole in the glass that was cut out for the metal pole to go through was cut rough and not even polished to smooth out the edges.
3. After the glass was put into place, the table felt like it could fall over, as if the designer did not take seriously the item's center of gravity on the design. I had to place the item in the bedroom and will take it out when the kids are big enough to not tip it over when they play.
4. The metal piece used to de/elevate the table is short. Any movement of the table may cause the piece to fall out and consequently make the table collapse in height and possibly break the glass.

In short, I feel $80 (gold box price) was just way too much for this shabby-constructed item. If I could do it again, I wouldn't buy it.

Looks good, works great, arrived fast -awesome! The cats find the glass top fascinating. They sit underneath and try to swat at things on top of the table from below....so it's entertaining as well.

I bought 2 of these when they were a gold box special for $79, which seemed like a good deal, until I took them out of the box and assembled them. I honestly have seen $25 tables from ikea that were constructed better. The tables are beautiful in a mid Century modern way but the construction is cheap and the tables a bit wobbly. I will keep them just because I love the way they look but, I don't think that I will put a lamp or anything on them due to the questionable stability.

I have to say, I have had 2 of these tables, and they have held up very well. The finish of the product overall is seamless. I am very happy and am going to order more as gifts for my friends, they all ask where I got them. I love Eileen Gray designs and this happens to be my favorite. When I received the tables they definitely exceeded my expectations in quality, I thought for the price they would not be nearly as nice as they are.
