Product Description
Did you know that every mattress needs a Protect-A-Bed Mattress Protector? FACT: Every night the human body loses a liter of body fluids through the skin pores and mouth, as well as millions of skin flakes. Unprotected mattresses thereby create the perfect breeding ground for bacteria and dust mites (a major cause of asthma, eczema and rhinitis). You can control this by fitting a Protect-A-Bed Premium Mattress Protector, which is also especially helpful in cases of incontinence. This fitted sheet style pad is sized to even fit pillow-top mattresses comfortably. Its cotton, terry-cloth fabric toplayer is soft and comfortable under your sheets. Guaranteed against leaks or tears for 10 years or the factory will replace the pad at no cost. (Queen Size: 60x80x18 in.) Wash before use for best results. Do not bleach or dry clean.

1 out of 5 stars They don't work   November 7, 2009

Simply don't work. We bought this brand of topper for both our very expensive latex king sized bed and child's new twin bed. Our child is a heavy overnight wetter and at age 4+ is still in overnight (heavy duty) diapers. She still leaks through the diaper a few times a month. Well, her mattress is now all stained because I didn't realize that the supposedly waterproof mattress protector was leaking through to the mattress pad. Her mattress has several sizeable stains. And at about the same time we noticed some (lighter) stains on the king sized bed from when she comes into our bed at night. Don't waste your money on this mattress pad.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent product   October 13, 2009

No need to add bulk to a good mattress, but I need protection as my dog occasionally gets ill in bed. (Clearly, we know who runs my house!) I had one of these before and it lasted a very long time. Just read the instructions for laundering, including the tip to never dry it alone.

Product came quickly, brand new, no problems when washed in warm water and dried with no heat. So far, so good.

4 out of 5 stars So far so good   September 12, 2009

After my roommate's dog peed on my brand new bed and I spent hours cleaning the spot I decided it was probably a good idea to get a mattress protector so I wouldn't have to go through that again.

I wanted one that didn't feel too much like plastic and was somewhat comfortable while being waterproof. This fits my needs. I can't tell you if it's officially waterproof but there are two layers on it: the bottom is a plastic waterproof sheet and the one on top is a comfortable cottony top so it's comfortable to sleep on. I have officially slept on it and you can obviously tell the difference in feeling but it's not uncomfortable. You'll get used to it. It definitely feels a lot better than cheap mattress protectors.

I would definitely recommend this protect to protect your mattress. You don't know how much work it takes to get the smell of pee out of your bed. Prevention is key.

1 out of 5 stars do NOT use on Tempurpedic mattresses!   September 8, 2009

I bought one of these mattress protectors for my new Tempurpedic Deluxe Bed at the bedding store I bought the bed at. On the first night with my new bed, I woke up in the middle of the night because I was so hot. I thought it was the Tempurpedic mattress, but once I took this mattress protector off the bed, I found I slept great. This pad has some soft of impermeable vapor barrier and doesn't seem to allow the foam in the mattress to breath properly. I almost returned my bed because I was so uncomfortable, but I discovered it was actually this mattress pad. I'm just sorry that I'm out the $70 I spent on the Protect-A-Bed. There really should be some sort of warning label that says "do not use on Tempurpedic or other foam mattresses" on the package.

But at least I am now very happy with my new bed. Maybe I'll try the mattress protector made by Tempurpedic.
