Great shower sounds! November 13, 2009

The Conair SR11 doesn't sound like my big audio system; after all, the speaker is only a couple of inches across.

But it meets and exceeds my expectations for a low-price device that allows me to listen to music and catch up on the news while taking my morning shower. Its sound is clear and precise, with no rattle. Heck, the sound quality is better than I get from the $45 clock radio I purchased for the guest bedroom!

Others have downgraded it for low sound quality. I disagree, and suggest that their expectations might have been a bit high. This is an inexpensive radio for the shower, and it delivers decent, clear sounds with a solid-feeling device. It is far better than the older model it replaces -- a Conair I used for more than 10 years with few complaints.

Why waste time in the shower when you could be getting your daily news? This unit has worked perfectly - can't speak about overall reception, as I stick to one station (which comes in clear without any static). If you don't have a shower radio, you should really purchase this unit. It's small, easy to hang or lay on a shelf, has easy to use controls, and good sound. Plus, at the price, it's an inexpensive way to get your news.

Works fine, held up to a few drops. Completely worth the price. But the speakers have zero bass. So if you want to listen to anything other than NPR, you should drop a few extra bucks for decent sound.
