Product Description
The Neverlate Executive is simply the most flexible alarm clock ever made. Dual 7-day schedules ("his & hers" if you will) plus a bank of "daily reminder" alarms accommodate any morning routine. Everything from the backlight brightness to the alarm duration is customizable. Any of the 20 station presets and 4 buzzer tones can be linked to each alarm - wake up to the buzzer Mon-Fri and NPR on the weekends. The long-awaited successor to the original Neverlate 7-day Alarm Clock, the Executive does not lack for new and exciting features.

1 out of 5 stars Useability *nightmare*   November 10, 2009

Whoever designed this clock is probably related to the guy who made VCRs so difficult to program. Speaking as a mechanical design engineer with a few years of product development experience, I'd love to meet the designer and ask him or her what the @!%^ was going through the designer's mind when designing the clock.

For all the whizbang and gadgets (21 sets of programmable alarms!) the clock falls short on one important thing: It's a PAIN to set.

Clocks from the simple affair on my microwave oven to my Casio triple-sensor G-Shock watch all have one thing in common: You can set the hour and minute values *separately*. Meaning, if I am rolling the clock back an hour for daylight savings, I just go to the hour counter, press either (-), or worse case comes, toggle through the hours until I roll back to where I need to be.

Not so with this clock. I'm expected to hold down the (-) button or roll the top dial ring through all the minutes until the right time is displayed.

God have mercy on your fingers if you came home to a power outtage and it's 6PM and you'd need to set the clock.

4 out of 5 stars Features missing that should be there   November 5, 2009

I am giving this clock 4 stars, because what it says it will do, it does. It has the ability to set different times for different days along with multiple alarms for each day.

The problem is that switching to this alarm clock required that I give up features that I have come to enjoy in other alarm clocks. At a price of $59 dollars, how much more would it add to the production cost and end cost to add those features?

1. Nature sounds - I prefer to wake up hearing birds chirp rather than a beeper.

2. Built in MP3 player ability where I just need to stick a flash drive with a selection of songs. Again, I want to wake up to what I want to wake up to and not some predefined beeps.

A small MP3 player by itself costs as low as $12 at retail including the memory card. After that feature it added, the nature sounds are just sound files, like any other sound files. Would I personally pay $12 more for an alarm clock for the ability to choose my own sounds? Yes.

5 out of 5 stars Great alarm clock   October 27, 2009

I was able to set up the clock for my wife and I in less than 30 minutes. She and I have different wake times Monday-Friday, and we leave it off for the weekend. I was also able to set up my radio station for wake for me and her radio station for wake for her, and we have several pre-programmed radio stations which makes listening easier. So far we have used the alarm clock for 1 month and are happy with its performance.

1 out of 5 stars Don't walk - run away from this clock radio.   October 25, 2009

If you have money to burn and functionality doesn't matter to you - buy this clock. Allow me to give you the highlights: cheap plastic look and feel, clock and alarm settings that are way more complicated than need be - comically so, I must say; ridiculous dials for setting one or more alarms; mind-numbingly-slow-to-change time settings (and other settings) unless you're willing to set the alarm in 5 or 10-minute increments; really poor sound quality; and the best part: ghost alarms. Despite having only one alarm set among all options, this clock would go off after 4 a.m. and again after 8 a.m. - every day - despite only having the alarm set for 8:30 a.m. That's three alarms for the price of one. But for that week, I only wanted one. And, no, I didn't have the alarm set to these times and just didn't realize it. It was a glitch in the unit I had and I couldn't get it back to Amazon fast enough. Poor, poor quality at a not insignificant price. One might argue that the convenience of having different alarms for different days makes it worth the price tag. However, the nuisance involved in setting these alarms with the absurd dials on top negates any 'hassle' involved in simply resetting your garden-variety alarm clock on a frequent basis. And don't even get me started on the sound 'quality'. The icing on the cake is how the pathetic little speaker faces the wall! Just when you thought it couldn't sound any more pathetic.

5 out of 5 stars A college must have!   October 17, 2009

If you are in college this is the alarm clock you've been waiting for. I have classes at different times on different days and that's what it's all about. I never have to worry if I set the wrong time again because I don't have to keep setting the alarm before going to bed and how wonderful is that if you've been up too late? I set my schedule once at the beginning of each semester and that's it! I'm as the product name states Never Late!

Awsome product, great features, great sound the only thing that I could fault about this clock radio is that the instruction sheet is a bit sparse but fortunately, it's very easy to figure the thing out without good instructions.
