Easy to use. The small, soft light showing whether the alarm is on is a very nice convenience that I didn't know I wanted but now would not want to be without. Buttons easy to use when you're sleepy. My last alarm clock was very complicated, with a lot of buttons to press and hold for settings, so I really appreciate the simplicity of this one. It's quiet (but the alarm is definitely not quiet). Finally, on top of all these great features it looks good too. I would definitely buy it again, and highly recommend it.

This clock seemed to be exactly what I was looking for, but you can't read it in the dark. The little amber and green lights that are mentioned just rake across the dial; they don't light up the numbers or the hands, so you can't see what time it is unless you reach out and depress the snooze alarm, which will momentarily light up the clock enough to see the hands. In fact, the light(s) is only enough to locate the clock itself in the dark. The clock has hands that glow, but only for several minutes after the lights are turned off before they lose their "charge".

I had hoped this would replace a much less expensive alarm clock that does softly glow all night (you have to manually turn it on at night and off in the morning if you want to save on its batteries) and is easy to read at a glance. But it's a quartz movement that ticks louder than I like. I was really looking forward to the Seiko's quietness, which it does have.

I've had this clock for about a month. It keeps time, the alarm works, and since that's about all there is to it I have no major complaints. However it is a plastic bodied clock that feels and looks like something that wouldn't have cost very much. I suppose it's silly since the clock works fine, but for the price I'd like something that feels as though it has some substance. My greatest disappointment was the illuminated dial. A light shines from the lower left quadrant of the face, either an odd sort of amber or green depending upon whether the alarm is set. It is not especially attractive, but more importantly it is not very effective. It's possible to read the time, but in the middle of the night when you're half asleep you'd like this to be very easy, and it's not. I wouldn't buy another.

Found this Seiko after much searching for a simple alarm clock that
1. was easy to set,
2. was easy to read even in the dark and without any bright LED's,
3. had an endurable alarm sound with snooze
and
4. was well-made and reliable.

In looking for a replacement for a bulova alarm clock that had become unreliable, I came across this gem. It's just what I needed. Runs silently, just enough light to see in the dark, but not enough to distract from sleeping. The gradual increase in intensity of the alarm tone is a great feature. The alarm chimes in a manner that doesn't shock you out of your slumber like so many others. The light that changes color from red to green lets you know that the alarm is set. I am more than satisfied with this little clock!!!
