Product Description
Maxxima introduces the MLS-01 occupancy sensor light. The battery operated MLS-01 automatically turns itself on when motion is detected by the built in sensor and turns itself off 30 seconds after you leave the area. Dusk to dawn sensor prevents daylight activation. The MLS-01 also has a switch to allow continuous useage if you requre the light on at all times.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent product   October 21, 2009

I have this hanging in my hallway next to the door to the garage. It lights up the hallway when I walk it so I am not walking into a dark house. I like the fact that there are 3 settings; On - where it stays on; Off - where it stays off; and OS Sensor - which is the motion sensor. It is also bright enough to light up an area, but not to bright if it is near a bedroom, it is not to bright to wake anyone who might be sleeping.

It is also useful for the bathroom or any dark room where you might search for light switches. Also since you can turn it on and leave it on, it would be good for closets that might not have a light.

4 out of 5 stars good for indoor use   September 30, 2009

Count me among the rest of the reviewers who think this is indeed a pretty good, inexpensive motion-activated light. I've got one mounted in the upstairs hallway where I live, and it works; when something moves, the light turns on, stays on for a few minutes, and turns off. By no means does it fill the area with bright light. It's more like an LED keychain light, if that, but it suffices for safety lighting.

No word on battery life. Another reviewer says they last 1-2 years before needing replacement. I will be ordering more of these, as they're good enough for my requirements.

4 out of 5 stars Useful motion sensor night light   September 7, 2009

The Maxxima is a pretty good night light. I bought 3 motion sensing night lights for my apartment and here's my review of all of them for comparison. Very bright and because of the LED's white light (better than the yellowish candescent GE motion sensor night light and the milky white Target brand "AmerTac" LED motion sensor night light) and has an option for batteries. Sensor can pick up from ~10 ft (a little farther than the GE and Target one) away which is pretty good, but the motion sensing angle isn't that good varies between ~120-150 degrees (about the same as the GE and the Target one). I have it in the hallway, and I have to stumble a couple feet before it picks up my movement, so I wish I could find something with 180 degree field of view. A side note, the Maxxima night light is abnormally large, so this will cover both light sockets (regardless of orientation). The light stays on for a period of time ~30 sec, however I prefer the GE motion sensor light which stays on on longer (roughly a minute). The Target brand one on the other hand, seems to stay on forever (it turns off after a couple minutes). The Maxxima's great in the hallway and even in the bathroom, but definitely too bright (for me at least) in the bedroom.

5 out of 5 stars Perfect night light   August 13, 2009

My condo is very dark because of the layout and from being on the bottom floor. This makes it difficult to unlock my door because I can barely see the keyhole. I was looking for a light with sensor because there are no electrical outlets by my door and stumbled upon the Maxxima light. I ended up buying four and have not regretted it!

I hung one on the siding next to my door and it offers enough light for me to unlock the door without fumbling. Another one is in my bathroom and illuminates as soon as it sees my shadow or movement. I would have used a plug-in night light but I only have one outlet in the bathroom and I didn't want to keep unplugging it when I used my blow dryer. Plus, I'm sensitive to light at night (has to be pitch black when I sleep!) so I love that it turns off by itself.

I have one in the kitchen and also placed one near my pet's food bowl. The Maxxima offers a gentle light that is bright enough to see where you are going yet dim enough to not jar you wide-awake during a middle-of-the-night bathroom trip.

5 out of 5 stars PERFECT FOR TRAVEL   August 3, 2009

I spend time in hotel rooms. They NEVER have a night light where it is needed. This light packs easily (take the batteries out first) and then sets up in your hotel room where YOU want light to come on. The Motion sensor is first rate. They sense from a good distance and seem to never fail.

There are other lights Maxxima style has if you want the same type of light that will also plug into the wall ... check out the MLS-10. The MLS-10 plugs in with battery back-up as well. Great for kitchens and hallways.

These are the kind of quality light the some authority suggested for older folks to prevent falls in the home.
