Just what I wanted. But it is not balanced well. Has a tendency to tip forward. Had to use velcro on base and table to keep it up righ.

I bought this little lamp for my 98 year old mother-in-law, who is having trouble reading. The lamp works great if she is sitting at her desk. She would like to be able to use it while sitting in her recliner or in bed, but the flexible "stem" is really too short for that.

I bought just about everything on the market to find something I could use as a task light, have my hands free while examining an object with my aging eyes, and that had a small foot print on the desk. This was my number 1 pick overall because of the price. But the bluish light from the bulb became so distracting, I ended up buying something out of the OttLite brand for about $70.

If you don't mind the bluish light, or can find another bulb, this is your buy!

I have low vision, so the magnifying lens along with the bright light allows me to read very small print again. My only complaint is the base. It's too light and tips easily in some positions. Other than that, it's a very useful item at a reasonable price.
