Great nightlight, helps calm fears of the dark :) November 4, 2009

We got this ladybug nightlight as a gift and couldn't be happier with it! No, the stars are not really bright and crisp-looking, but it's a toy for a child, not an educational tool for a high-schooler. It's neat that the stars are actually in constellations, and it's fun to try to find the big dipper with our 2 year old daughter. She figured out which buttons to push to make the color of the stars change in no time, and I think it has helped her stay in her big girl bed since she is busy playing with it when she goes to bed at night. The soft fuzzy head and legs of the ladybug are great, it feels like a stuffed animal and our daughter can pick it up easily and move it around her bed or take it to Grandma's. She has started to have dreams and wake up periodically but when we turn on her nightlight again she calms right down and goes back to sleep. The automatic shut off is a big plus since it's yet another toy that takes batteries. This is definitely a toy for a kid around 2 or a little older, a smaller child might step on it or throw it and break it but a pre-schooler or older will love it. We absolutely love this nightlight and I'm buying 2 more for her cousins today!

if the turtle is placed on the floor. I put it on a little table in the
middle of the room.

I have always had good luck when ordering through Amazon and this is no exception. This product performs exactly as stated and does exactly as advertised. It was a perfect gift. Consider this product if you have family or friends expecting a baby or who has a child a little afraid of the dark--it's perfect.

The Sea Turtle Night Light is AWESOME!!

Description: Plush body, nice and soft.(Also: looks just like the pic!)The shell is a hard plastic with pictures of the endangered sea animals lining the bottom of the shell all the way around. And on the top of the shell is Tiny cut-outs where the stars show through. At the back of the turtle, above the tail, there are 3 buttons. One for a 'single' light that highlights 'one' endangered sea animal at a time. The other two buttons are for the lights that project the stars and moon. The colors are pretty and bright, in blue and green. When you use the colors together, they make the aquamarine color(on the shell only!)and it also doubles the amount of projected stars and adds another moon!( My son loves that one best)The stars and moon stay the blue and green color, they do-not turn the aquamarine color because the two lights project at different angles!! Thats why they double when you use both colors!

Also...Some reviews I read said that the projection wasn't strong enough to show up well on the walls and that they could barely see the stars on the ceiling. I don't agree at all!! It works great in my sons room, it just sits on his standard twin size bed, projects stars on half his ceiling and 'lights' up the whole room.(great nightlight too:)My son, who is almost 3yrs old now, has gotten into a habit of getting out of bed in the middle of the night. So, we got him the Sea Turtle Night Light, he's been staying in bed a lot more and he loves it!! He figured out, on his own, how to change the colors and 'highlight' one of the endangered sea animals. It's really Cute, he sleeps with it on top of his bed.

This is awsome for children and adults. My daughter received this for a Christmas present her first Christmas. She will not sleep with out it. She is only 17 months old and she loves her turtle..
