Unlike so many other LED products, this one is nice and bright, casting a uniform glow over a wide enough area to illuminate a book page or computer keyboard. I have it running on USB power from my computer, illuminating the keyboard (which otherwise would be quite dark.) Now that I've seen how well these work, I'll get some more to give as Christmas gifts to other people who use computers, or read while they travel.

Plenty of light, acts as a desk lamp, computer lamp and book lamp. Used standard batteries which increases the weight. A little heavy, but this works to advantage when used as a desk lamp.

Slightly disappointed as my book light came with only four functioning LED lights instead of five. Even with 20% less light output, I had no problems reading book so I'll keep it.

I lost my other book light (Fulcrum) so I was looking around to see if there is another book light that is as good or better. The spec on Ritelite appealed to me because LED light can be detached to be used as USB light for laptop. As I am typing this review I am using the LED in darkened room and it does a good job.

The base (as other reviewers have already noted) is bulky and the back clip is not adjustable. I have tried hooking the book reader on both soft and hardback books and subjectively I thought Fulcrum did better job as book reader. Compared to Fulcrum, I also noticed that the goose neck is much stiffer to adjust. The light diffusion is wider also so this may or may not bother your bed mate in the darkened bedroom.

My search for the right lighting system for my laptop finally ended with the discovery of the RiteLite Wireless Light. Mounted with five LEDs and three power settings, this outstanding tool more then covers the basics.

With its all metal 8" flexible neck, this model spreads the perfect amount of direct light to both my laptop or hardbound books. No matter if its a laptop or notebook, keyboard real estate is easily covered. The push button power switch is conveniently located on the tip of the light head. A nice surprise was the aesthetic, soft blue glow emitted from the top of the light head via five portholes.

The RightLite operates via a USB port or by plugging directly into the battery powered magnetic base. Three AAA batteries supply the juice for the base. I strongly suggest users avoid placing the magnetic base near your laptop. A metal clip is attached to the base for book reading. The gray finished RightLite comes packed with instructions, power base and the standard one year manufacturer's warranty. Batteries not included.

After going through several inferior, overpriced lighting sources its indeed a pleasure to finally find a product that delivers in both quality and price. Ritelite Computer/Book Light is an excellent tool that won't leave you in the dark.

A must have item for the college student that is living in a dorm environment and those who want to conserve energy from having other lights on in the room. Worth the price. I use it every morning and night.
