5 out of 5 stars Best Solar Led Light I have ever purchased!   March 4, 2010
Nick G. Thomas
I purchased this Solar Led Security Light and when I got it
in my mail, I opened it up (and it was well packaged) and this
light is heavy duty made. I know some people think it should
have been made with metal frame but it's plastic because then
it don't get struck by lighting. Well anyway I have a 12'x 30'
deck and this light will lite up the whole deck with no problem.
Now the not so good. The light will not bend down enought to shine
straight down on the deck but it's OK because of the wide range it
has. Another thing is that the 3 controls on the bottom of the motion
detector don't do much. The timer works great but the other to don't
seem to change a thing. They control when it turnes on at dark and
how sensitive the motion is. I turned both of them all the way to the
(-) side which is the lowest setting but nothing changed at least that
I could tell. Well anyway it turns out that they are perfect like they
are with the factory settings. I just thought you may like to know this.
I still give it a 5 star because also the solar panel is big enought to
really charge the battery very quick. I have two other security solar
lights and the solar panel can't keep up but this one will not let your
battery go dead. The best way to keep it set is at the 10 second setting
because as long as something is in it's sight it will stay on anyway. This
way you don't use so much power like when it's on for 2 or more minutes.
Just use comon sense with the solar lights and they will work perfect. Just
remember...we are going into a age where we will be using all kinds of solar
and wind powered things so we may as well get use to it.
I recommend this product 100% and I will be getting more of them for other
dark places around the out side of my home.

4 out of 5 stars Good lite,But needs some improvement!!   February 20, 2010
The Fox (usa)
This is probably the best light so far. It has a bright parking lot style glow that illuminates a widw area. Installation was not to difficult, but required a ladder since i wanted it directly over my front entrance door.
Pros: Light is definatley bright. sensor can be adjusted left and right, up and down with plenty of clearance. As stated above. If needed to locate the solar panel to a specific area, the cable is long enough.
Cons: The light itself can only be adjusted up and down to a certain degree. So if you place this unit over per say your front door, you cannot get the light to shine directly straight down where it is needed(limited on adjustment). Furthermore, the solar panel itself cannot be adjusted to any specific degree to compensate for the sun. Also, it would be nice for the settings under the sensor to be more clearly read. Its very hard to read somthing during the daylight that has the same backgroud color as the plastic unit. Print of numbers/letters are to small to read. Durable on a scale 1-10, i would 5. Somewhat cheaply made, but gives off a tremendous light. The mounting screws that came with the unit are stainless, and are an overkill for there size(to big guys). Price somewhat expensive. Now lets see if it can hold up to the test.
I stuck my neck out and bought(2) Hope i wont be sorry!!!!

5 out of 5 stars Abe's pick   February 12, 2010
A. Oldham (MidTenn)
unit has been installed for a few months now and I have had no issues.
the solar panel is not even positioned for best exposure yet it still charges well enough, light seems to be just as bright all night long. No way of knowing but I would say it is motion activated at least ten times a night, possibly as many as 25 times. Panel was covered with 4 inches of snow for at least two days so it's definitely enough amp hours to last a good while. I looked at many of these things and read many reviews... in my experience thus far the comments concerning dim lighting and stopped operation are unfounded, I am glad I went with this little bit pricier model and am here to say this is the one you want.

5 out of 5 stars Works Great!   February 8, 2010
E. Gould (San Francisco, CA United States)
This light is very bright, which I understand is unusual for a solar powered light, and it has been working great, i.e, turning on whenever someone walks close to it, but not otherwise.

1 out of 5 stars Take alot of battery energy   February 1, 2010
J. Lee
With 80 LED usage, I believe the battery is not big enough to turn on more than 10x a nite. I was clearing the area where this light was setup , I walked in and out , the light turn on and off about 8x then that was it for the nite. So disappointed but unable to return now , bought over 2 months. I should have gotten the one from costco.
