My little girl sleeps with this turtle every night! She loves it. We turn it on, sing "Twinkle, Twinkle little star" & say goodnight. She falls asleep every night looking at the stars! The best part for her is that she can decide what color the stars are going to be... orange, blue or green. The best part for us is that it turns off after 45 minutes. We would recommend this turtle to anyone!

A friend raved about this, and decided to buy another one for her coming baby, since she and her hubby had been using it in their room and had gotten attached to it! I decided to get it, and was blown away by how it completely transformed the nursury into something beautiful and magical! It has a lovely soft glow, and is incredibly soothing, so much so that my husband came in, laid down on the futon, and fell dead asleep within minutes! Apparently it works:) The baby isn't here yet so I can't weigh in on how it will be for him, but we love it and hopefully he will too.

The constellations are a little hard to pick out, as the stars are all the same size, but the star guide it comes with helps a lot. I agree with other reviewers who have pointed out the amber color is too dim to be effective, but the green is nice and the blue is beautiful. Overall I highly recommend this to anyone, with or without children!

We use this turtle every night! My daughter loves it. She looks for the moon and wants us to sing twinkle twinkle little star. It does need to be quite dark in order to see the stars so it can't really be used for day time naps but it works great at bedtime. It doesn't let out too much light to keep her awake and it has an auto shut off. Great Product!!

My daughter didn't really take an interest in this until she was about 18 months old, then she started to pay attention to the stars on the ceiling at bedtime and even asks for 'stars' if I don't turn the turtle on as soon as the light goes off.

As other customers have pointed out - in order for it to work reasonably well you have to have the turle a certain distance from the ceiling, and in the center of the room which for most people isn't practical as they don't have a tall piece of furniture in the middle of the floor. I make due by placing the turtle on a small ottoman in the middle of the room - the stars are a little blurry because it really should be higher up and closer to the ceiling, but my daughter doesn't know the difference and enjoys the stars anyways.

I would definitely recommend this not for little babies really but children of toddler age and older.
