Very Good Book - Full of Super Ideas - Better than Other Books on Staging that I've read.

3 out of 5 stars Good content, poor layout   September 9, 2009

While I was very hopeful and excited to read this book, I've been slightly disappointed. The content covered is good and the author hits on very pertinent aspects of the business but the book is laid out so poorly; she goes from one point right to another unrelated point. From what I've read about the author, she is highly experienced in the staging industry and knows what she's talking about but this book is just so hard to follow. In her defense, she did state several times throughout the book that she is "not a professional writer."

5 out of 5 stars Worth a Second Read and More   June 28, 2009

My well worn book purchased a couple of years ago has been an invaluable source for my business growth. I now have two as I anticipated the book had been updated and I was looking forward to new material. I was not disappointed. There is a good deal more that has been added and I'm very pleased. I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to start a home staging business. It was as much a pleasure to read the second time around as the first, and I discovered ideas I had missed in the first reading. Doubly good.

If you're looking for a book that is really practical, honest and frank, this is it. No sugar coating. Facts, forms, check lists, resources. Great for beginners and pros alike. The large format makes for easy reading and I love the casual writing style, as if the author and I are friends having coffee and talking about starting a business. The layout is excellent and the whole process is very easy to follow. I found it to be pleasurable to read. I've taken many expensive seminars in business and design, but have yet to find one that begins to compare with this single manual - and that's saying a lot. If you're serious, don't look further. You won't find anything better, seriously.
