Product Description
This is the simplest diaper disposal system on the market; just step and drop-no complicated twisting or putting your hand in the can. Exclusive triple seal system prevents odors and germs from escaping. Simple to empty with convenient front door and built in cutter. Each refill bag holds up to 4x more diapers than the leading brand. Can also be used as a step-and-drop trash can for years to come. Ages birth and up. 20.5?H x 11?W x 9?D.

3 out of 5 stars First impressions. good not great..   September 20, 2009
J.C. (United States)
Just began using this, for about 2 weeks now. First impressions are as follows:

When the pail is about 2/3rds full the down swinging door hits the diapers and makes it awkward to to put more in. You have to put your hand in (ick) and push the diapers down. Other option is to empty it at this stage, which seems like a waste.

Next flaw is the fact it doesn't seal very well, so you do get a dose of stink right in the face when you open the top to put more diapers in.

Last complaint is proprietary bags. What person with children needs another thing to have to get at the store? But this is obviously something that you know prior to purchase. Important to note though

The bag system is very good, it works well and is convenient. I do like this feature alot.

Overall this is not a bad system, but far from the best/perfect solution. We have a Graco that uses supermarket plastic bags and this one is better in my opinion. But much more $$ to purchase, but probably cheaper to use over time since you don't need to buy bags.

1 out of 5 stars Used to be great, the new bags are awful...   June 24, 2009

I've been using the Diaper Dekor Plus for over a year and a half. The old bags used to work perfectly, and the product deserved 5 stars then. But with the new bio-degradable bags the nursery stinks.... I'm on the market for a new product, the Diaper Dekor is going to the trash.

5 out of 5 stars Keeps Odor In, Doesn't Stand Out   June 1, 2009

Before I gave birth to my son, I reviewed lots of different diaper pails and found the most positive reviews for this system. We actually had to order the pail from Amazon, but we found the refills at our local Burlington Coat Factory. I love it! I have never walked by and noticed a smell at all (although when you take the bag out to tie it--whew!!!). It would be nice if it was a few inches taller to accommodate more diapers, but we keep it in our bedroom and it just looks like a small, lidded wastebasket, not a bulky, obvious diaper pail. I plan to use this with all our kids. I don't use this pail exclusively now that we're in a 2-story house, but all the "upstairs changes" go here. I highly recommend this!

1 out of 5 stars Not as good as you'd think   April 12, 2009

First off, I must introduce myself as the male of the household and I am writing this review from the perspective of one who disposes of the full bags and also one who uses it when I change my daughter's diapers. I have been using the Diaper Decor for the last 20+ months.

When my daughter was still pooping "baby poop" there really was no problem because baby poop doesn't smell too bad. However, once she graduated to "normal poop" the smell has become absolutely unbearable! This has literally made me label the Diaper Decor as the absolute worst invention ever! The intent of the Decor is very good and makes absolute sense. However, actual day to day usage builds up a nasty odor as you can imagine. Worst yet, the built-in fragrance of the bags is supposed to neutralize the poopy smell, but somehow chemically the 2 odors together have literally joined forces into a diabolical, disgusting Smell. I exaggerate not! Therefore, I have learned to not change out the bags in the house because the Smell lingers in the air and makes anyone near it gag. I now bring the Decor outside of the house to change so I can have the advantage of fresh air to blow away the Smell. Unfortunately, this is still not too effective as I often feel like I can cut the thick disgusting Smell with a knife. I kid you not, the Smell manages to get stuck in my nose hairs, so that I must blow my nose after changing the Decor to completely eliminate It from my system.

I highly recommend that if you can, just use a plain garbage can with a drawstring garbage bag with a cover and leave it outside the house as your diaper disposal. I have seriously done this last summer and have not gagged while changing it out, surprisingly. The only reason why I'm still using the Decor is because my wife unknowingly (or knowingly) bought a new box of Decor bags and insists on using it. Maybe all I have to do is let her change it once in awhile so she knows what kind of torture it is to change the Decor.

1 out of 5 stars If the purpose is to control diaper smell, then it doesn't work at all.   March 24, 2009

I admit that my review should really be broken into two parts -- before the biodegradable refill bags and after. Before the new biodegradable refill bags we were perfectly happy with the Dekor Plus. It worked well in controlling smells, was easy to operate, and was simple to change bags. The reason we wanted it was, of course, to control the smells of used diapers. However, Diaper Dekor recently introduced a new refill that is biodegradable. It does not work well in controlling diaper smells. Unfortunately, the biodegradable refills are the only option available. As such, I would recommend another diaper system. Also, I would question wether a biodegradable bag filled with non-biodegradable diapers really serves any benefit.
