The RacorPro PHL-1R takes only minutes to install.
Easy-to-Install Pulley System Frees up Floor Space
The PBH-1R uses a pulley system that makes it easy to raise and lower bikes weighing up to 50 pounds. The system can be installed on ceilings as high as 14 feet, and the unique rope locking system ensures that the rope stays locked in place when not in use. Storing your bike off the floor not only protects your bike from damage, but it frees up valuable floor space, helping to keep your space tidy and better organized.

Installing the Racor PBH-1R is a breeze, and you can have it completed within a matter of minutes. The only tools necessary for installation are a Phillips head screwdriver, a drill with a 1/8" bit, a tape measure, and a stud finder (for ceilings with drywall). The easy-to-follow instructions will have your Ceiling Mounted Bike Lift ready to go in just five easy steps.

Solid-Steel Construction for Durability
The PBH-1R is built to last. All of its included hardware is constructed from solid steel for maximum durability and toughness. The locking mechanism, pulleys, rope cleat, and lift mechanism offer smooth performance for years to come. The included 48-foot lift rope is also extremely durable, and it provides plenty of excess length for ceilings up to 14-feet high.

Easy Raising and Lowering with Minimal Effort
The PBH-1R makes it a breeze to raise and lower your bike from its ceiling-mounted position. The pulley system handles the brunt of the force, so it requires very little effort on your part. Simply hook the bike handlebar and seat to the included hooks and pull the lift rope to raise the bike to its ceiling-mounted storage position. With each pull, the locking mechanism locks into place to eliminate accidental drops. Store the excess rope on the included rope cleat to keep it nice and tidy.

The RacorPro PBH-1R Ceiling Mount Bike Lift measures 10.24 x 5.12 x 3.5 inches (packaged) and weighs just 3.64 pounds (packaged). All included components feature a black finish.

What's in the Box
Two lift assemblies, two hook pulleys (one with locking mechanism), 48-foot rope, one rope cleat, 10 two-inch wood screws.

4 out of 5 stars Got two, fits standard garage, park 2003 Accord underneath   November 9, 2009
J. MONSEF (Seattle, WA)
Overall a good idea. I just installed two of these in about 30 minutes. My garage is nothing to brag about, your standard speck house 2 car garage (which means 2 barely fit). I've got 2 adult mountain bikes hanging and I've got 2 inches to spare between them and the roof of my 2003 Honda Accord beneath.

The only issue I have is that the screws aren't long enough. The brackets, when hanging parallel with joists, have a quarter inch gap between the metal and the ceiling, add the 1/2 inch drywall and you're only getting a quarter of the screw into the joist. Not very secure. I'd recommend getting some longer wood screws.

5 out of 5 stars My Wife Says 5 Stars *****   November 8, 2009
Broower (Morgan, Ut USA)
I keep lots of bikes on the ceiling hanging from simple hooks, but I decided to try one of these to see if my wife could get her bike off the ceiling all by herself. It only took a few minutes to install, everything worked as described, and she successfully hoisted and lowered her bike without the assistance of a man. She's happy, I'm happy, everything is good. I've been ordered to buy a second one for her new mountain bike.

4 out of 5 stars Good Product, Works Well, Installation Time Consuming   November 4, 2009
Kenneth A. Mastro (Raleigh, NC USA)
I have 2 of these bike lifts, and they actually work pretty well after you get them up.

As others have noted, the ropes look like they're fraying. We haven't replaced ours yet, but I expect to do that in the future. We also needed to buy some alternate/additional screws for mounting. (These two issues are the reason for 4 stars instead of 5.)

They need to be mounted into wood, which may be a bit difficult if the ceiling joists run in the wrong direction for you (like mine did). You can't just put them anywhere unless you have a -really- high ceiling - they'll hang down about a 12-18 inches PLUS the height of the bike. Given that, our garage isn't high enough to mount them just anywhere, so we had to put ours parallel to a wall. This required me to add support boards on the ceiling with some heavy duty lag bolts. This was more work than hanging the Racors themselves.

However, after you get them up, they work just fine. Raising and lowering the bikes is reasonably easy, and they stay solidly in place without fear of them falling.

One final note - the hooks are probably going to go under the seat and under the handlebars. Make sure you don't have any brake cables or other things in those areas that would prevent you from using the hooks.

4 out of 5 stars Racor PBH-1R   November 2, 2009
HandeeManee (Orange County, CA)
The Racor PBH-1R is an economical, well-made bike lift. Our need was to hoist a cargo container and it can sufficiently handle the 30lb+ of current weight. It was easy to install. The medicore materials used (lightweight plastic, etc) may prove to sketchy for constant up and down usage but just a guess since we have had no issues- the price paid made it a good value.

5 out of 5 stars Relatively easy to install and works great   October 23, 2009
K. krueger (atlanta, ga, usa)
I've had the hooks up for 6 months now and we really like them.

They were easy to install on the garage rafters. It only took a few minutes to put all 3 up.

Using them for the bikes is extremely easy as well. They are a great way to make room for a car in the garage.
