I originally bought a knife block from TruBamboo that was falling apart out of the box so I took it back and ordered this. The Henckels block is sturdy and well constructed, very solid. However, I think it is important to note that the picture is slightly different from the actual product. The design is basically the same, but the picture shows 4 larger slots, but the block I received only has two. So my chefs knife, santoku, and 10" slicing knife wouldn't all fit, but I used a drill to widen one of the slots. It is also good to note that my cleaver doesn't fit in the cleaver slot, which will only hold a 3.5" width cleaver and mine was 4". So I did buy another cleaver to fit the slot. Overall a 5 star product, but I gave 4 stars since the picture isn't the exact product I received.

This product was priced right and it is very handy to have all your knives in one place, not scattered in drawers. Looks very nice sitting on my counter. I do recomment this product.

About four years ago we bought an 8-piece cutlery set at our local warehouse store and this 19-piece wood knife holder was included with the knives. It didn't fit the knife set at all, but was rather a "one-size-fits-all" holder that seemed included as an afterthought. Since then, we've added a couple other knives to it and an 8-piece steak knife set, all of which pretty much fills up the holder.

We don't particularly care for the holder. It's too big and bulky and takes up too much counter space. To be sure, it's a handy way to organize the knives, much better than in the drawer, but we'd like a somewhat better arrangement. Now, after four years of use, the finish on the block is starting to deteriorate and we're thinking of looking around for another way to organize our modest knife collection.

It was exactly the size that I needed after adding more knives to my set. Just make sure you know the sizes of the slots so that you have enough for all your knives!
