We love this diaper pail, and have used it for both of our children. It does a great job blocking the smell, and best of all it uses standard kitchen garbage bags. It's very easy to use - drop in a diaper, rotate the handle and you're done.
My only advice would be to make sure the tabs are folded in on the diapers being discarded. My husband has a habit of throwing everything in willy-nilly - diaper, wipe, whatever. We've had several instances of the little tabs on the diaper, or a piece of the wipe, getting stuck in the area that cycles the diaper into the trash bin. This results in the mechanism getting stuck and not being able to rotate until the block is cleared. If you fold the diaper, preferably with the wipe in it, problem solved!

I chose this diaper pail because it was the only one that didn't require you to use special bags that are really expensive. You can use your regular tall kitchen trash bags, which is really nice considering you have to change the bag at least every other day with the amount of diapers you go through.

I am glad I chose this pail because it keeps the smell in and is a good size. My only complaint is that sometimes it is hard to flip over the lid, however this is usually due to the fact that the pail needs to be emptied.

I would recommend it.

This is a typical diaper changing pail, nothing special. It does it's job though! You just have to remember that you do need to change the bag at least once a week, or else it is going to smell... But then, what do you expect from a pail holding soiled diapers! I change the back 2 x a week,or more, as I have two babies it fills fast. I also wash it about 2 x a month. It's easy. This is a great pail for when your child is a little older. My son knows to put his diapers in it and its easy for him to turn.

The diaper champ is a no brainer to use, and wonderful because it uses regular trash bags. We had the Diaper Genie with our daughter, and this is so much easier to put diapers in and change the bags. Even our 7 year old daughter can use it. I empty it every 4 days with a 3 month old and only use it for pee diapers. We have placed poop diapers in it, and I have to agree with alot of other people, I can smell them. I can't imagine putting diapers from an older child in it. We do use deoderizer bags, and pee diapers do not have any odor until it gets full. Despite the Diaper Genie containing smells better, I would choose the Champ because it is so easy to use, and so easy to change. I don't mind throwing the poop diapers in the outdoor garbage.
