a great thermos for cycling November 1, 2009

I was looking for a stainless steel water bottle to take on bike rides. I liked the idea of an insulated bottle so looked at the different bottles that Thermos had to offer. I love the top that pops up with the generous spout. When you unscrew the top you can easily add ice cubes. Even tho it doesn't hold as much as some bottles, it is enough for most rides. The ice lasts for hours. I am totally pleased with the quality and the price/value is excellent.

Awesome Thermos--A MUST Buy! October 30, 2009

After looking through several possible choices in regards to stainless drinking bottles, I decided to choose this one because it had such good reviews. I had originally wanted a larger size, but this size has worked great. I bought 3 for my husband, my teen daughter & myself, and we LOVE these. They have worked extremely well. At the same time, I bought 2 Thermos "FUNtainers" for my 2 younger boys. This is a superior product by far. The FUNtainers started falling apart after just a month & the drinks didn't stay anywhere near as cold as the hydration bottle Thermos. Hours & hours later you WILL have ice in the hydration bottle. Even if it feels warm on the outside of the bottle, your drink will be ice cold. Therefore, I decided to buy 2 more of these for my sons. They like these SO much more than their other Thermos'. They have been so excited that their drinks are actually still cold at the end of the school day. We now have a total of 5 bottles, & they have been worth EVERY SINGLE PENNY. I highly recommend these. If you buy water bottles, you will definitely save money. I haven't bought a pack of water bottles in 3 mos. Before I was buying 1-2 packs a week. Now, I just fill up my Thermos with the filtered water that I already have in my home. I know I have more than paid for them in the money we have saved in buying water bottles. If you don't like or drink water, they'll keep any cold drink you enjoy, cold. Juice, tea, water, colas (just let it "fizzle down" before you put on the lid) even ICED coffee works well in here. On a side note, Amazon also has the best deal I have found on these. These would also make great gifts for Christmas. So you can end your search here; just go ahead & buy it!

I did a lot of searching and reseach trying to find something that would work on my bike as well as in the cup holders in my car. Based upon the outstanding reviews this product received, I ended up buying it and have not been disappointed. The way the top springs open, it allows you to take a sip without spilling down the front of you even if you're accelerating in your car or wobbling around on your bike. I use it in conjunction with the Topeak adjustable bottle holder on my bicycle as well as in the cup holder in my car. It keeps my coffee hot for hours, and if I do happen to inadvertently drop it or it bounces out of the cup holder in the car, it's air tight and doesn't leak on the seats like some of the other expensive ones I've bought in the past. It's one of the few that you can actually just lay down on its side and it won't leak like some of those that have a sliding or clip type door on them.

I guess the only question I would have is whether the manufacturer has replacement seals in the event one cracks or starts leaking. Any seal has a tendency to wear out after a while, expecially the one on the inside where you screw down the lid. For the money, I don't think you can find a better product.

I am a hunter that is always looking for a problem to solve. Interested in finding a way to take coffee with me and minimize the odor released while doing so quietly became my challenge. Well this bottle is perfect. It keeps the contents nice and hot, has a latch to assure that it does not open in my pack, can be opened easily and quietly and seals up tight to eliminate the odor or spillage. My only recommendation would be to offer a model in camo for people that want it for their hunting trips. Otherwise it is totally perfect. I will be using it for quite a while.

I bought this for my 8 yr old son's lunch. He loves it because you do not suck out through a straw, it's a free-flowing thumb size mouth once you pop the lid. Stainless steel inside, so it can be kept very clean. I do wish it wasn't quite so tall. It won't fit into most lunch boxes.
