Do your part for the environment: Use this recycled travel mug for your take-out coffee instead of paper or Styrofoam cups. Not only does Aladdin make the mug from 100% FDA-approved recycled plastic, known as eCycle, but it's completely recyclable itself at any place that recycles plastic. (It's imprinted with the number 5 on the bottom.) Down the line, this mug may end up being transformed into outdoor decking, park benches, or planters. The travel mug is the first item to be launched from Aladdin's Sustain collection.

Not only does using this travel mug make you feel virtuous, but it works. Double-wall construction keeps up to 14 ounces of your drink hot or cold, and the twist-off lid helps prevent accidents. Slim and attractive, with wavy lines adding subtle decoration, the tumbler shape fits into standard car cupholders. You can even warm your drink in the microwave using this mug, and slip it into the dishwasher for carefree cleanup. Choose your color, and start reducing waste. The Earth will thank you for it. --Ann Bieri

3 out of 5 stars If you use it only in certain indoor place, you can take into account.   November 20, 2009

the cup is not well disigned and the water is esily spilled out form the gap. Besides, the cup can only keep water hot no more 2hrs. However, the microwavale design is good to cover its drawback.

5 out of 5 stars Pretty good so far   November 19, 2009

The tumbler style has a definite advantage over the mug (with handle) style. There's no problem with aligning the drink opening at a 90 degree angle to a handle.

The screw top lid with a gasket is better than a snap on lid, because it doesn't dribble through the lid/mug seal (so far.) Also, the lid is pretty well ventilated for a good flow, and it seals well when the opening is closed off.

I had another pretty good insulated tumbler from Dunkin Donuts that was double walled acrylic. After a short time, the acrylic started to develop fine cracks inside and leaked between the walls. The material on this tumbler is not as brittle and I don't think it would crack, even if it bounced off a hard floor.

I've also had a few cups with a lid made of a black rubbery type of material that would taste (and smell) rubbery, especially when the coffee is hottest (no bad taste or smell with this one.)

I have never found, or expect to find, any cup that insulates as well as I would like, so that's really not an issue. I think that if you want it hot, drink up and don't expect miracles. If this cup stands up to my daily use for a few months, I'll probably buy a couple extra, just in case.

3 out of 5 stars Not the perfect travel mug   November 19, 2009

These had excellent reviews, and I wanted a new travel mug. As someone noted, this one doesn't prevent spills - I just cleaned up a mess and know this for a fact. Be sure to put it in the cup holder if there's any chance it could shift. Also, it doesn't keep my coffee very hot. After about 45 minutes it's lukewarm. On top of that, if the cup isn't full, and you tilt it to drink, it can come out really fast and spill all over you. This was only my second day using the mug, and all of these things have already happened. I wanted this to replace a good metal mug that I really liked, except that it was very difficult to clean inside the lid (around the spring release mechanism). But this has not been a step in the right direction as far as cleaning goes! The mug itself is easy to clean, but it has resulted in time spent cleaning spilled coffee and reheating cold coffee in the microwave.

5 out of 5 stars great travel cup   November 1, 2009

I was looking for a simple travel mug to get my tea from home to work in the car. I like this one because it can be microwaved (though it is too tall for my microwave at home) and it is dishwasher safe...hurray!
It insulates well enough and keeps my hands warm on cold commutes. In short: an inexpensive, well-made travel cup.

5 out of 5 stars Great product!   October 27, 2009

There's minimal leakage on the top when the lid is closed, but other than that it's a great mug! It keeps hot liquids warm, but not scorching hot like other mugs I've used.
